The single most important thing you can do to minimize worms in next year’s fruit is to rake up all fallen fruit and leaves and remove them from your yard. Put them in the yard waste, not your home compost. Removing the fruit prevents the insect larvae and pupae from over-wintering under the tree and interrupts its life cycle.
